We've had 2 days in a row with meetings being called off. There is an inspection at Ludlow tomorrow but I think it should go ahead.
13:45, Vobe Electrics 'National Hunt' Maiden Hurdle
Malinificent 5/1, 1pt each-way (3 places)
Dunskay is favourite here and brings in some decent bumper form however, he will have to be match fit after a 333 day absence so may be worth taking on here. I liked the way Malinificent travelled on his rules debut at Leicester last month before getting outpaced late on over 2 miles. The step up by 5 furlongs here looks a good move as he finished 2nd in a 3 mile point in May. I thought that was a good effort nonetheless as the winner that day had won twice on the flat in France and was in receipt of 5 pounds from Malinificent. The runner up has come out and won since to help boost the form too.

14:50, Plyvine Caterers Handicap Chase
Smiling Getaway 7/2, 2pts win
This is a really open staying handicap chase. Venetia Williams runs Ramo who is interesting on his first chase run after a 268 day absence, but we know how she can ready one. Roger Pol steps up in trip again and that looks a good move but I'm happy to take both of these on with Smiling Getaway. She impressed on chase debut at Ffos Las in October before finding Listed company too hot next time out. She's up in trip here and back in handicap company. I think she can continue improving.

15:25, Luke Watson Memorial Novices' Limited Handicap Hurdle
Sullivan Bay 2/1, 2pts win
This is a pretty poor race but Sullivan Bay has been in some form of late since switching to his new stable (1st, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd). He was beaten just a head at Plumpton on his last hurdles start and has been within a length of winning his past 2 starts on the flat. Sean Bowen takes the ride and that looks eye catching. He's not much of a price but I expect that he'll be hard to stop in this contest.
