Chepstow - Tuesday 13th May

It's a quiet couple of days until York's season gets under way on Wednesday. There's competitive racing at Chepstow on Tuesday, if a pretty low grade.

15:50, Why Bet Elsewhere, David Lucas Bookmakers Handicap

Diamond Cottage 7/1, 1pt each-way (4 places)

Charlie Bennett takes his first rides for trainer Malcolm Saunders in 2025. The trainer has only had 5 runners so far this year but did have the first 2 home in a 6 furlong handicap at Salisbury on the 4th May.  The 2nd that day, Diamond Cottage, runs here in search of her first win since 2023 however, it's worth noting that she was well backed the last day and only just missed out at the finish. The fact she's being brought out quickly is encouraging and she is now just too well handicapped to ignore. She's clearly thriving at home and the stable is going well so far this season. She's won twice at the track in the past and everything looks set for a good run.
